	Drag News Magazine was formed in 1988 by Todd and Laurie Silvey. The husband and wife team saw a need for professional race coverage dedicated to sportsman and match racing. As husband and wife racers back in the late 1980's, the pair noted the lack of professional coverage dedicated to their sportsman drag racing effort. With necessity as the mother of invention, they developed a magazine devoted to sportsman drag racing with racing results and feature stories. Originally called Midwest Drag Racing Magazine, the magazine has grown in the past decade to include more and more sportsman coverage and has expanded into the +100 page tabloid national publication that it is today. Drag News has been titled "Sportsman's #1 Magazine" and its decades of award winning race coverage now hosts a certified readership of over 10,000 postal certified readers and continues to grow every month. Drag News has also grown from its humble beginning to feature hardcore racer technical articles. The goal of the current staff of Drag News is to always feature an in-depth feature story every month to address hot issues that effect sportsman racing along with car features, technical articles and the most in-depth racing event coverage there is for sportsman racers. The magazine has also spawned a sister company, www.gofastgroup.com, that concentrates on quality catalog publishing, web site creation and agency services strictly for the drag racing industry. Christopher Silvey, their son, was the previous editor of Drag News Jr. section in the magazine and is now attending college at Southern Illinois University with aspirations to be a Cardiologist.

	Drag News Magazine achieved a unique goal in the fall of 1997. Along with our monumental task of constructing a new office center of Midwest Motorsport Magazines, Drag News is now classified a "periodical (better known as second class) by the U.S. Postal Service. Not only does this put your subscription on the fast track of delivery, it puts us steps above similar regional drag newspapers. The magazine format brings quality to the sportsman drag racer making us the sportsman leader in U.S. Postal certified readership numbers with readership that rivals many magazine with national coverage.
